Chapter 9 – Ryan

The rush of wind whips through my hair as I fall, my heart suddenly in my throat. The orc is saying something else unintelligible, and then the air thickens beneath me. That’s the only way I can describe it.

Then, suddenly, we’re gliding.

“It worked!” Vrothar laughs triumphantly.

“What?” the fox shrieks, you didn’t expect it to?”

“I never know!” He smiles proudly back at me.

I don’t know what to say.

There's a certain intensity in his eyes, a spark that ignites within me a peculiar mix of fear and fascination. As the wind whistles past us, I wonder if there's something more between us, something that transcends just alpha and omega. Why did he come for me? I’ve never seen him before in my life!

But there's no time for contemplation as we descend towards the safety of the ground, our landing somewhat less graceful than we would have hoped.

“Oh fuck!” the fox cries out as the three of us crash unceremoniously through a fence and into somebody’s backyard.

Vrothar grins proudly at the two of us. “Now that was a rescue!”

“Remind me to be more selective in my partners,” the fox replies.

“You were right,” the orc continues, “The two of us are an amazing team. Renn, this is my mate – I do not know his name.”

“What?” I shriek.

“Wait, you seriously don’t know each other?” the fox named Renn asks.

“He will birth me strong orc babies,” Vrothar says proudly.

“Hold on a sec,” I say, except my body is betraying me. At the mention of giving him babies, slick literally squirts from my clenched ass.

"Wow, okay," Renn replies, “Well, first of all, yes, I’m Renn. This is Vrothar. And you are?”

“Ryan,” I say weakly.

“Nice to meet you, Ryan, and good luck having his babies. Good luck taking that cock, amiright?”

I gulp. I choose not to answer, because that is exactly what I’m thinking about.

“Now that pleasantries re out of the way,” Renn continues, "We need to find a place to regroup. There's an abandoned warehouse not far from here. It should provide us with temporary shelter. There we can figure out our next move."

Vrothar and I both nod. Together, we navigate the streets of Portland. Walking is surprisingly difficult, with my pants getting more and more soaked by the minute.

The scent of my heat attracts other alphas, but one look at the orc alpha is enough to discourage them. When night falls, the flickering streetlights guide our way, illuminating the path to our temporary sanctuary.

As we enter the desolate warehouse, a sense of solitude washes over us, offering respite. We find a corner to gather ourselves, the silence broken only by the sound of our collective breaths and the distant echoes of sirens in the night.

Renn's eyes meet mine, and his smug demeanor melts away, revealing a vulnerability that lingers just beneath the surface.

I meet his gaze, my heart torn between the gratitude for his protection and the lingering fear of the elf. “How do we escape Azura? He has power beyond anything I've ever witnessed.
